Regular exercise helps to improve the quality of life for breast cancer survivors. Studies in the past have shown correlations between exercise and decreased cancer risk. To evaluate the effect of regular exercise on the life of breast cancer survivors researchers identified 1,829 Chinese women, aged around 54 years, diagnosed with breast cancer between 2002 and 2008. Approximately 70 per cent of the women exercised regularly at six months post-diagnosis and 74 per cent were exercising regularly for 36 months after their diagnosis. Those reporting even low levels of regular exercise were more likely to report better physical, mental and social well-being than those reporting no exercise. Also, women who exercised for more than eight hours per week reported the highest capacity for daily living and work or study, less distress, better body image, and higher quality relationships. In addition, the benefits of exercise were still evident more than 36 months after breast cancer diagnosis.
- For many years people have been told the daily excise will improve there life. Exercise have a positive impact in an individual life. I feel like this is a great way for not only breast cancer survivors but should be apart of everyones everyday life style.

This article shows how biology can have a direct effect on a person’s life. It is widely known that exercise is good for you but in cases such as those with cancer exercise can serve numerous roles. You are releasing tension within your muscles resulting in less stress, you are releasing toxins from the body through sweating while performing the physical activity, and the actual fitness helps release happy hormones. All of these help with supporting the study along with the actual fact that people who exercise are less at risk for illness along with cancer. Great article.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great article, and I couldn't agree more with this. My aunt had breast cancer a few years ago, and after she went through her treatment, she decided to change her life for the better by having a healthy, more active lifestyle. Her life has improved so much, and she says that it was exercising and eating well that played a major role.
ReplyDeleteI agree that what was said in this article should not only be applied to breast cancer patients but to everyone in general. The benefits of exercise on the body and mind have been proven extensively. The evidence is clear that exercise promotes positive feelings in the longrun and obviously better physical health. Overall, good article.
